「上下関係/年功序列」(hierarchical/vertical/seniority)

今回は「上下関係/年功序列」の表現をまとめていきます！

上下関係

レベルによって分けられる「上下関係」の意味です。

if a system, organization etc is hierarchical, people or things are divided into levels of importance
LONGMAN

I am in a company that values hierarchical relationships.
「私は上下関係を大切にする会社にいます。」

verticalはもともと「垂直」の意味でレベルごとに分けられた「上下関係」を表します。

having a structure in which there are top, middle, and bottom levels
LONGMAN

The vertical relationship is strictly defined.
「上下関係が厳しく決められている。」

会社に長く働いている人が有利になるイメージで「年功序列」の意味です。

if you have seniority in a company or organization, you have worked there a long time and have some official advantages
LONGMAN

Holidays are determined by seniority.
「年功序列によって休日が決められる。」
