「熱中する」「夢中になる」の表現(be obsessed with/be into)

「彼はゲームにずっと熱中している。」は英語で何というのでしょうか？
今回は「熱中する」「夢中になる」の表現をまとめていきます！

「熱中する」「夢中になる」

be obsessed by/with

「悪魔や妄想などが人にとりつく」というのが本来の意味ですが、「be obsessed by/with (モノ/コト)」で一般的な「～に熱中する」の意味になります。

if something or someone obsesses you, you think or worry about them all the time and you cannot think about anything else
LONGMAN

A lot of young girls are obsessed by their weight.
「多くの若い女の子が自分の体重にこだわっています。」

He’s obsessed by his hobbies.
「彼は自分の趣味に夢中になっている。」

口語で「～に興味がある状態」「～に熱中している状態」を意味します。
Ariana Grandeの曲で「Into You」という曲がありますが、「あなたに夢中」という意味になります。

to like and be interested in something
LONGMAN

I’m really into folk music.
「私はフォークミュージックがに夢中です。」

He was so into the game that he didn’t even eat food.
「彼はゲームに夢中で、ご飯も食べなかった。」

crazyは「気が狂った」「狂気じみた」の意味で、「crazy about」となると「～に熱狂する」の意味になります。
