「unless」の表現(～でない限り/もし～でなければ)

今回は「unless」の表現をまとめていきます！

とりあえずここだけ覚えて！！

unless
「～でない限り」
「もし～でなければ」

unless

if notと同じイメージで「～でない限り」「もし～でなければ」の表現です。

used to say that something will happen or be true if something else does not happen or is not true

Unless some extra money is found, the theatre will close.
「余分な資金が得られない限り、劇場は閉鎖されます。」

I think you should complain – unless, of course, you are happy with the way things are.
「苦情を言うべきだと思います。もちろん、現状に満足している場合は別ですが。」

He won’t go to sleep unless you tell him a story.
「彼にお話をしてあげないと寝てくれません。」

I can’t leave her unless I know she’s all right.
「彼女が無事であることが確認できない限り、私は彼女から離れられない。」
