とりあえずここだけ覚えて！！

意識的に「見る」

see
認知して「見える」

watch
意識を傾けてしばらく「見る」

glance at
ぱっと「見る」

stare at
gaze at
じっくり「見る」

look

意識的に視線を向けて「見る」のイメージです。自動詞で、「look at (モノ)」となります。

to turn your eyes towards something, so that you can see it

If you look carefully you can see that the painting represents a human figure.
「よく見ると、この絵は人の姿を表しています。」

The men all turned to look at her as she entered the room.
「彼女が部屋に入ってくると、男たちは皆、振り向いて彼女を見た。」

何かがあることを認知して「見える」のイメージです。他動詞で、「see (モノ)」となります。

to notice or examine someone or something, using your eyes
LONGMAN

Can I see your ticket, please?
「チケットを見せてください。」

The moment we saw the house, we knew we wanted to buy it.
「家を見た瞬間に「買いたい」と思いました。」

意識を注いでしばらく「見る」のイメージです。特に動くものに対して使われます。他動詞で、「watch (モノ)」となります。

to look at someone or something for a period of time, paying attention to what is happening

「私たちは座って夕日を見た。」

Watch carefully. You may learn something.
「よく見てください。何かがわかるかもしれません。」

ちらっと「見る」のイメージです。自動詞で、「glance at (モノ)」となります。

何かを長い間じっくりと「見る」のイメージです。自動詞で、「stare at (モノ)」となります。

集中してじっくりと「見る」のイメージです。自動詞で、「gaze at (モノ)」となります。

She gazed at the screen, looking for mistakes.
「彼女は画面を見つめ、間違いを探していた。」

My eyes got tired from gazing at the small things too much.
