honest
常に真実を言い、不正をしないイメージで「正直な」の意味です。
someone who is honest always tells the truth and does not cheat or steal
LONGMAN
He was a hard-working honest man.
「彼は勤勉で正直な男だった。」

He’s too honest to tell a lie.
「彼は正直すぎてうそを付けない。」

straightforward
straight(まっすぐ)+forward(前に)で「正直な」の意味です。
