「結局～になる」の表現まとめ(end up/turn out)

今回は「結局～になる」の表現をまとめていきます！

とりあえずここだけ覚えて！！

「結局～になる」

end up

end(終わる)+upから想像できる通り「最終的に〜なる」「結局〜になる」の表現です。

to be in a particular situation, state, or place after a series of events, especially when you did not plan it
LONGMAN

He came round for a coffee and we ended up having a meal together.
「彼はコーヒーを飲みに来て、一緒に食事をすることになりました。」

I wondered where the pictures would end up after the auction.
「オークションの後、写真はどこに行くのだろうと思いました。」

turn(～になる)+outで、先ほどと同様に「最終的に〜なる」「結局〜になる」の表現です。turn outは他にも「火を消す」などなど他の意味もたくさんあります。

It was a difficult time, but eventually things turned out all right.
「苦しい時期もあったが、最終的にはすべてがうまくいった。」

As it turned out, he passed the exam quite easily.
「結果的には、彼は簡単に試験に合格しました。」
