「関連/関係する」の表現(have to do with/be related to)

今回は「関連する」「関係する」の表現をまとめていきます！

「関連する」「関係する」

be related to

幅広く使える「～に関連する」の表現です。

things that are related are connected in some way
LONGMAN

Police now believe that the three crimes could be related.
「警察は、この3つの犯罪が関連している可能性があると考えています。」

He suffers with memory loss related to his disease.
「疾患に伴う記憶障害に悩まされる。」

be related toよりもカジュアルに使える「～に関連する」の表現です。

to be about something, be related to something, or be involved with something
LONGMAN

Their conversation had been largely to do with work.
「2人の会話は、主に仕事のことだった。」

I’m sure her problems have something to do with what happened when she was a child.
「きっと彼女の悩みは、子供の頃の出来事と関係があるのでしょう。」
