「適任な/適格な」の表現(qualified/certified/eligible)

今回は「適任な/適格な」の表現をまとめていきます！

qualified
知識や経験があり「適任な」

certified
資格があり「適任な」

eligible
幅広く使える「適任な」

qualified

その役割にあった適切な知識や経験やスキルがあり「適任な」の意味です。

having suitable knowledge, experience, or skills, especially for a particular job
LONGMAN

Dawn is well qualified for her new role.
「ドーンはこの新しい役割にふさわしい人物です。」

If you don’t speak German, you’re not qualified to comment.
「ドイツ語ができない人はコメントする資格がありません。」

特定の資格を持っていて保証されて「適任な」の意味です。

He is a certified doctor.
「彼は認定された医師です。」

She left the job to the certified accountants.
「彼女は認定された会計士に仕事を任せた。」

qualifiedの意味もcertifiedの意味も含み、幅広く使える「適任な」の意味です。

someone who is eligible for something is able or allowed to do it, for example because they are the right age
LONGMAN

Students on a part-time course are not eligible for a loan.
「パートタイムコースの学生はローンを受けることができません。」

If you’re over 65, you’re eligible for a discount.
「65歳以上の方は、割引の対象となります。」
