比較するときに使えるフレーズ「more of/more of than」の表現

今回は「more of/more of than」の表現をまとめていきます！

とりあえずここだけ覚えて！！

more of A than B
「それはBというよりもAだ」

more of A
「どちらかというとＡだ」

more of A than B

「それはBというよりもAだ」と比較して一方を強調する時に使える表現になります。

to be one thing rather than another
LONGMAN

It was more of a holiday than a training exercise.
「訓練というよりも休日のようなものだった。」

It is more of an programming example than a useable filesystem.
「使用可能なファイルシステムというよりも、プログラミングの例としての意味合いが強いです。」

「コンピュータ・アナリストの役割は、デザイナーというよりもファシリテーターであるかもしれません。」

than以下を省略して「そちらかというとAだ」とすることもできます。

We see more of Sue these days.
「最近どちらかというとSueの姿をよく見かけるようになりました。」

It is more of an open environment.
「どちらかというとオープンな環境です。」
