「がっかりする」の表現まとめ(disappointed/let down)

今回は「がっかりする」の表現をまとめていきます！
何か期待にそわなかったときに使えるフレーズです。

「がっかりする」

be disappointed

望みどおりにならず「がっかりする」のイメージです。

unhappy because something you hoped for did not happen, or because someone or something was not as good as you expected
LONGMAN

The locals were disappointed that their team lost.
「地元の人たちは、自分たちのチームが負けたことを残念がっていた。」

Dad seemed more disappointed than angry.
「父は怒っているよりもがっかりしているようだった。」

カジュアルに「がっかりする」というイメージです。「let (人) down」で「(人)をがっかりさせる」となります。「がっかりする」といいたいとき「be let down」と受動態になります。
