「直接に/面と向かって」の表現(directly/face-to-face/in person)

今回は「直接に/面と向かって」の表現をまとめていきます！

とりあえずここだけ覚えて！！

「直接的に」

directly

directの副詞で「直接に」の表現になります。

with no other person, action, process etc between
LONGMAN

I’ll talk directly to you.
「あなたと直接話します。」

We will explain directly at the store, so please come when it is convenient for you.
「直接店舗で説明しますので都合がいいときにお越しください。」

「面と向かって/直接向き合った状態で」の意味になります。

a face-to-face meeting, conversation etc is one where you are with another person and talking to them

Why couldn’t they just tell him things face-to-face?
「なぜ、直接会って話すことができなかったのか。」

I’ve never met her face-to-face.
「直接お会いしたことはありません。」

誰かに頼むのではなく自ら行うイメージで「直接に」の表現です。

if you do something in person, you go somewhere and do it yourself, instead of doing something by letter, asking someone else to do it etc

I’d like to talk to you in person, not over the phone.
「電話ではなく直接話したいことがあります。」
